Lapeer Community Schools is pleased to announce the selection of Kristen Jeans as the district’s new State Reporting and Pupil Accounting Coordinator.
Jeans is replacing Lori Seguin, who recently announced that she is stepping down from the position after several years with LCS.
In this role, Jeans will maintain and update the district's state reporting and student record databases. In addition, she will serve as the link between the district's digital pupil accounting system and other reporting systems. Jeans will also provide supervision of staffing needs pertaining to all elementary and secondary secretaries, assist with state and county pupil audits, and provide building staff with current pupil accounting rules and regulations.
No stranger to the district, Jeans currently works as the payroll and benefits clerk. Previously, she was the attendance and athletics secretary at the Rolland-Warner 6/7 Campus, an instructional paraprofessional at Rolland-Warner, and a childcare assistant at Lynch Elementary with Kids and Company.
“We are excited to promote Kristen to her new role and feel she brings a dynamic skill set to this very important position,” said LCS Superintendent Matt Wandrie. “She is a dedicated employee with a tremendous capacity for leadership. Kristen is a true asset for this district and I trust it will be a seamless transition.”
"I pride myself on my ability to learn quickly and adapt to new situations," Jeans added. "My experience working in various roles has equipped me with a holistic understanding of the district from many perspectives - human, financial, educational, and parental. This comprehensive view enables me to approach challenges with empathy and insight."
A graduate of Oxford High School, Jeans has also attended Oakland Community College, Baker College and the University of Michigan-Flint.
